swaporama (plural swaporamas)

1. An event at which all participants donate items which can then be taken for free by other participants.
   • 1976, Afterimage - Volume 4, page 3:

     Among the other official events were a history and clarification of National Endowment for the Arts programs in photography presented by NEA's Kathy Gauss, a number of discussions revolving around psychology and perception as they related to photography, and the ever-popular print and slide "swaporamas."

   • 1986, Theodore Roosevelt Association Journal - Volumes 12-15, page 19:

     Mr. Epstein, who is a collector of TR memorabilia, would like to have a TR collectors' "swaporama" or show at future festivals.

   • 2015, Stuart Hylton, The Little Book of the 1970s:

     The central feature of the programme (which otherwise was a familiar round of music, celebrity appearances, competitions and cartoons) was the 'swaporama'.
