[edit]Possibly syvä + -nto. While this would require a seemingly irregular shift from front into back vowels, the front-vowel variant syväntö is also attested in dialects.

- stream pool (stretch of a river or stream in which the water depth is above average and the water velocity is quite below average)
- (figuratively) A slow section in anything that might be understood as a stream, e.g. in musical composition, history, life of a person, project etc.
