    • 1939, Henry Beveridge translating Abu al-Fazl ibn-Mubarak as The Akbarnāma of of Abu'l Fazl, Vol. III, Pt. 1, p. 341:
      H.M. was in a litter (sukhpāl), and holding communion with his God. By the blessing of the shadow of the blessing of the Shāhinshāh no harm happened to his followers in that unprotected plain.
