suippo
Appearance
Finnish
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Compare suippu and also huippu. The initial sui- part further evokes comparisons to suikea, sujua and the -pp- to suppea. Likely a sound-symbolic derivative based on the aforementioned words. Probably also related to Karelian tšuipakka.
