- A secondary or subsidiary broker.
- 1918, Food Investigation, Report of the Federal Trade Commission on Canned Foods, General Report and Canned Vegetables and Fruits, page 66:
- In order to pay these subbrokers, he must receive a higher rate of commission. Brokers ordinarily insist on a higher brokerage if they have to use subbrokers.
