    • April 19 2002, Scott Tobias, AV Club Fightville[1]
Fightville resembles a real-life Foot Fist Way, in that much of the action takes place within the cinder-block walls of a strip-mall gym, this one located next to a Piggly Wiggly in Lafayette, Louisiana.
    • 2008, Wally Lamb, The Hour I First Believed, Ch.1, at p.9-10:
The karate school where she took tai chi was in a strip mall near the Three Rivers depot. There's a convenience store, a bike shop, Happy Joy Chinese, and Caputo's Martial Arts. I got out, walked to the door, opened it a crack. Twenty or so little kids in karate suits stood with their hands clasped as if in prayer. "Bow to the master, bow to the flag," the instructor said.
