[edit]stop-phrase (plural stop-phrases)
- A phrase consisting of one or more words, usually in a series, that is ignored by a search engine.
- Suppose that “take it easy” were a stop-phrase. Then, if a user searches for “take it easy tonight”, the user will see the same results as if he/she typed merely “tonight” assuming the latter is not similarly on the stop list.
