[edit]Etymology
[edit]spri- + giur,[1] or perhaps even from a Balkan Vulgar Latin construction composed of super or supra and iūrō, jūrō. Compare Megleno-Romanian sprijur, spridžur.[2] No directly equivalent word was preserved in Daco-Romanian; however cf. the now archaic and regional prejura and related Aromanian prigiur, prigiurari (cf. also Albanian përgjëroj).
