sleeperette (plural sleeperettes)

  1. (rail transport) A seat in a train compartment that converts into a simple bed.
    • 1952 April, H. W. Winham, “By "California Zephyr"”, in Railway Magazine, page 269:
      There is nothing on British Railways quite like the sleeperette accommodation. The bed itself pulls from the wall, and when this is not in use, the reverse side forms the back of a comfortable seat.
