[edit]Borrowed from Philippine Spanish seguro (“probably; maybe”), originally shifted from Spanish seguro (“surely; certainly”), where Philippine Spanish instead uses segurado (“sure”, literally “assured”) for the same sense.[1] Doublet of seguro.
