[edit]From Proto-Austroasiatic *sliŋ ~ sliiŋ ~ sliəŋ ~ slaiŋ (“to be tilted, to squint”). Cognate with Bahnar pliːŋ (“to squint”) and Khmer ស្រលៀង (srɑliəng, “cross-eyed”), as well as with Bahnar həreːŋ (“to lean over”). Doublet of sharing.[1]
