- (India) A blister caused by the chafing of a shoe or boot.
- 1874, Medical and Sanitary Report of the Native Army of Madras, page 133:
- The sepoys have suffered in many cases from shoebite or blistered feet, but they rarely require treatment in hospital. They are excused from wearing boots until the blister heals.
- 1906, The Philippine Journal of Science, volumes 1-5, page 100:
- […] states that in two of his cases the diagnosis was at first mistaken, the sore in one instance being considered primarily as a form of ringworm and in the other as an ordinary "shoebite."
