[edit]From Proto-Albanian *iš-kruma, with a non etymological -mb-<*m (cf. Romanian scrum, from Albanian) from Proto-Indo-European *krem, attested in Latin cremō (“to burn”),[1] or from Proto-Indo-European *skremb, *skr̥mb (cf. Lithuanian skrembti (“to crust over, stiffen”), Swedish skrympa (“to shrink”), English shrimp). Compare also Romanian scrum (“ashes”).
