- Something that segments or divides.
- 1906, Charles Phillips Emerson, Clinical diagnosis, page 592:
- The segmenter now seems to burst, and the young organisms spring apart. Each organism is a hyaline, and is ready for a new cell as host.
- 1925, Canning Age, page 326:
- It is then placed on the second belt and passed to the segmenters, who after removing the segments and withdrawing the seeds, replace the fruit on the first belt.
