[edit]Verb
[edit]see someone's etchings (third-person singular simple present sees someone's etchings, present participle seeing someone's etchings, simple past saw someone's etchings, past participle seen someone's etchings)
- (idiomatic, informal) A clichéd innuendo used in offers to withdraw to a private location for sex; to go to a private location with someone in order to have sexual congress.
- Synonym: view someone's etchings
- Would you like to see my etchings?
Usage notes
[edit]- Ian Stuart-Hamilton's An Asperger Dictionary of Everyday Expressions notes that this is rarely used as "an invitation to have sexual intercourse",[1] presumably speaking of real-life situations. However, this sense remains common in fiction.
