1. (idiomatic) To turn a blind eye, to look the other way.

   L-am văzut pe copil cum își sugea degetul, dar m-am făcut că plouă, altfel l-ar fi certat mama lui.

   I saw the child sucking his thumb, but I turned a blind eye, otherwise his mother would've scolded him.

   Cum de căsnicia ta a durat atât de mult timp? - Secretul e să te faci că plouă din când în când.

   How comes your marriage lasted for so long? - The secret is to turn a blind eye from time to time.
