- Schizopodids are typically found feeding on spring-blooming desert flowers, clinging to dry grasses (Schizopus) or on foliage of oaks (Dystaxia) and junipers (Glyptoscelimorpha).
Usage notes
[edit]- The synonym schizopodine was rendered obsolete following a 1991 review which promoted the subfamily Schizopinae to family status.
- Usage of the synonym false jewel beetle is likely a logical consequence of the move (Schizopinae had been classified within the jewel beetle family, Buprestidae).
