Usage notes

In mathematical terms, the scalar triple product of three vectors $\mathbf {a} \$, $\mathbf {b} \$ and $\mathbf {c} \$ is $\mathbf {a} \cdot (\mathbf {b} \times \mathbf {c} )$, or the scalar product (dot product) of $\mathbf {a} \$ with the vector product (cross product) $\mathbf {b} \times \mathbf {c}$. It is a scalar quantity.
