1. A cut made with a saw.
   • 1907, Robert Scott Troup, Indian Forest Utilization‎^[1], Office of the Superintendent of Government Printing, India, page 101:

     The saw-cut begins on the side opposite to that to which the tree is intended to fall, and is continued right through the tree.
