[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish صارماش طولاش (ṣarmaş dolaş),[1][2] from صارماش (ṣarmaş) + طولاش (dolaş),[3] equivalent to sar- (“to wrap, to wind”) + -ma + -ş + dola- (“to wind around”) + -ş.
