Verb

samkjafta (weak verb, third-person singular past indicative samkjaftaði, supine samkjaftað)

1. (intransitive, chiefly in the negative) to shut up, to not talk nineteen to the dozen

   Strákurinn samkjaftaði ekki alla ferðina.

   The boy talked nineteen to the dozen the whole trip.

   Hún samkjaftar aldrei.

   She never shuts up.

2. (intransitive) to close one's mouth

   Fiskurinn getur ekki samkjaftað.

   The fish can't close his mouth.
