- (intransitive) to make juice
- Unsere Saftpresse hat sich bewährt, sie saftet ohne Ende.
- Our juicer was worth it; it makes juice like anything.
- (intransitive) to exude juice or another liquid
- Der weiche Untergrund unter unseren Füßen saftete mehr und mehr.
- The soft ground under our feet let out more and more liquid.
- (intransitive) to be or become full of sap
- Im Frühling saften die Bäume, allen voran die Birken.
- In spring the trees are full of sap, especially the birches.
- (intransitive, informal) to make inappropriate comments
- Wenn der hier so weiter saftet, kommen wir mit unserer Besprechung nie zum Schluss.
- If he’s just going to talk nonsense, we’ll never get this meeting over with.
