[edit]From Ottoman Turkish صاغناق (sağanak).[1] Related to Ottoman Turkish صاغنامق (sağnamak, “to squirt, spray”).[2] Compare Mongolian [script needed] (şagi-, “to pour down, to rain heavily”). (Can this(+) etymology be sourced?)
