- Any Mauritian flying fox (Pteropus niger, syn. Pteropus vulgaris) inhabiting islands of the Indian Ocean.
- Any flying fox of genus Rousettus.
- Any small shark of the genus Scylliorhinus (syn. Scyllium); a dogfish.
