[edit]Inherited from Old Spanish rezno, from Latin ricinus. According to Coromines and Pascual, first attested in Nebrija in the 15th century. Cognate with Asturian rendu, rédinu, Dalmatian drecno, Nuorese Sardinian errichìna.
