redevoir

French
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Pronunciation
[edit]Verb
[edit]redevoir
- to owe again
- Vous me redevez cinq euros ― you owe me five euros again
- (rare or obsolete) to have to again
Usage notes
[edit]- It's more usual in contemporary French to use devoir with re- in front of the verb, or use à nouveau or de nouveau.
- The past participle redû is sometimes found, formed by analogy with the past participle dû of devoir (whose circumflex is present solely to distinguish the word from du).
