  • IPA(key): /ˈrɑsʋɑton ˈmɑi̯to/, [ˈrɑ̝s̠ʋɑ̝t̪o̞m ˈmɑ̝i̯t̪o̞]

rasvaton maito

  1. non-fat milk, homogenized and pasteurized skim milk/skimmed milk (in Finland, milk with at most 0.5% fat content)

Usage notes

Despite the name translating as non-fat milk, rasvaton maito may contain fat, but most milk sold as rasvaton maito tends to be fairly close to 0% fat content. For marketing purposes such milk also has to be pasteurized and usually homogenized.
