- Psydrax parviflora,[1] especially subsp. rubrocostata (syn. Canthium rubrocostatum[2]), tree of the madder family (Rubiaceae); yields timber.[1]
- Psydrax schimperiana subsp. schimperiana; yields hard wood and is used for building.[1]
- false turkey-berry, mottled-bark canthium (Psydrax livida); yields very hard wood.[1]
