- (UK military slang, now rare) A quartermaster, or quartermaster sergeant.
- 1929, Frederic Manning, The Middle Parts of Fortune, Vintage, published 2014, page 128:
- ‘A private is ordered to complete some deficiency in his kit, and he goes to the quarter-bloke for it and gets nothing but abuse for his trouble.’
