- (England, law, of an office) Held as long as the officeholder does not abuse the post (literally, “As long as they behave well”).
- 1269, Walter de la Wyle, Fundatio domus Sancti Eadmundi Sarum [Charter of Foundation of St. Edmund's College, Sarum]:
- Tresdecim vero presbyteros associamus praeposito supradicto quam diu se bene gesserint per ipsum exhibendos honeste.
- We associate in particular thirteen priests to the aforementioned provost for as long as they behave well by comporting themselves honestly.
