Latin

[edit]

Pronunciation

[edit]
  • (Classical Latin) IPA(key): /kʷam ˈob.rem/, [kʷä̃ˑ ˈɔbrɛ̃ˑ]
  • (modern Italianate Ecclesiastical) IPA(key): /ˈkwa.mobˈrem/, [ˈkwäːmobˈrem]
  • Note: despite often being written as a single word, the graphic m does not represent a bilabial nasal /m/, but a placeless one, as always in word-final position. The word is always scanned as two longs, with (probably only partial) elision of the first vowel. Contrast with tamen, with /m/.
