precertificate (plural precertificates)

  1. (computer science, cybersecurity) A special type of SSL/TLS certificate used in Certificate Transparency (CT) for logging purposes. It's a precursor to the actual SSL/TLS certificate and helps ensure transparency in the certificate issuance process.
