- Linda Harris of Reston, Va., found a way to cut what it costs to buy videos. "Purchase pre-viewed movies from a video store," she recommends. Harris said she saves as much as half the cost of a new video. For example, she bought a pre-viewed movie, Dinosaur, for $6.99. The original cost $19.99.
