1. (pharmacology) A synthetic amylin analog (trademark Symlin) that is administered by injection in the form of its acetate C₁₇₁H₂₆₇N₅₁O₅₃S₂·C₂H₄O₂ and is used with insulin therapy to lower blood sugar levels in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
