1. A political utterance.

2. (usually derogatory) The theory that political factors dominate over others.
   • 2000, Mario Bunge, “Two Unification Strategies in Social Sciences: Reduction and Integration”, in The Problem of the Unity of Science, page 145:

     Politicism is the view that all human endeavors are power struggles. Thus, according to Michel Foucault, even art would be cultivated for the sake of power.
