From pickle +‎ back (“mild drink, chaser”). Coined 2006 by Reggie Cunningham of The Bushwick Country Club bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.^[1]^[2]^[3]

A shot of whiskey with a shot of pickle brine as the chaser.
