1. (medicine, dated) Examination of the abdominal cavity using a narrow instrument inserted through a small incision in the peritoneum.

     Decker had just introduced his culdoscope and was advocating culdoscopy. I actually saw two peritoneoscopies during training but it had not achieved wide use.
