Affixed jagal (“butcher”) +‎ peng- -an, borrowed from Javanese ꦥꦼꦗꦒꦭꦤ꧀ (pejagalan, “abattoir, slaughterhouse”), from Old Javanese pajagalan (“place for slaughtering”).
