paramere (plural parameres)

1. (zoology) One of the symmetrical halves of any one of the radii, or spheromeres, of a radiate animal, such as a starfish
2. Lateral genital lobes that occur as part of the external reproductive organs of some male insects, sometimes developing into a phallus as the insect matures.
