  1. The obligatory bun. (Finnish custom is that visitors to a household being visited bring food to be shared with the hosts. Typically this is in the form of a cinnamon bun to be enjoyed with coffee provided by the hosts)
  2. (by extension and playfully) any kind of obligatory task that is reluctantly carried out, such as filing a tax return or shovelling fallen snow.
