oxy-gas torch (plural oxy-gas torches)

  1. A type of torch in which the oxygen and the hydrogen are led off the electrolysis cell separately and are fed into the two gas connections.
    • 1909, The University of California (publisher), Machinery - Volume 16, page 963:
      In this instance, an oxy-gas torch was used very effectively for this purpose, and a space two inches wide was quickly cut in the web which had a section of 5 by 15 inches.
