- To replenish (a pasture, lawn, or field) by adding more seeds over top of the existing vegetation (as opposed to tilling and replanting the land).
- 2007 April 12, “Another Path to Splendor in the Grass”, in New York Times[1]:
- Plant or overseed with the right grass for the spot.
- (rare) To sow excessively, at overdensity of seeds per unit area.
