   • 1996, Mike J. Lehane, Biology of the Insect Midgut, page 361:

     After receptor binding the toxin inserts into the plasma membrane creating a pore of about 1-2 nm in diameter, as estimated by osmoprotection experiments (Knowles and Ellar, 1987).
