- Another point to consider is that in binocular viewing, smooth pursuit follows flow of scene elements at the depth of the point of fixation, which means that in a real 3D environment optokinesis may also incorporate depth information by tracking retinal image elements with zero disparity, making stereo vision potentially relevant for steering (see discussion in [22 ]).
