[edit]From Proto-Bantu *kʊ̀gʊ̀dʊ̀ (“leg”). Cognate with Swahili mguu (“leg; foot”), Lingala lokolo (“leg; foot; wheel; tire”) and Rwanda-Rundi ukuguru (“leg”).
