I've had to handle obnoxious paladins in campaigns before. Usually the reason for the obnoxiosity was that the player didn't really understand how paladins (according to me) are supposed to think.

Are you ever tempted to give people a real answer when they ask “how ya doin’?” or “whaddaya know?” Me too. Of course the urge to kill varies in direct proportion with my mood and the degree of obnoxiosity of the asker.

When I am trying to bring up an issue I think is likely driven by one of the child-personas, sometimes it helps to attempt to write to my adult self, using the right hand. Dunno if this would work for someone who didn't spend HOURS, as a small but obnoxious person, learning to take notes bassackward, so that people who teased me for writing left-handed, with the arm hooked around the page, would really have something to bitch about. (Never did use mirror script on a test or anything, but did keep my notebook, one semester (alas, before the housefire) in mirror just for obnoxiosity's sake.)

: that I can edit the crap portion out of this newsgroup.
Wait a minute. Let me turn up the obnoxiosity knob on my keyboard.
Someone will then in short order post instructions for creating a kill file.

That's totally a sign that they take IRC way too seriously. basically, I think they need to get help. Some university discovered an internet addiction syndrome. At first I thought it was a load of shit, but after seeing the way people on DALnet respond to criticism, lameness or just plain obnoxiosity, I'm beginning to think those researchers were right.

I couldn’t believe how snippy my sister was being. Honestly, if I hadn’t had the gossip item of the decade to show her, I would have just turned around and left her room. But I had to show her Isabella’s picture of Mrs. Hintermeister. It was going to knock her socks off! I’ll bet she would snap right out of her “obnoxiosity” (I know that’s not a real word, but I made it up and I think it describes how Juliette’s been acting perfectly!). Nineteen eighty-four was the pinnacle and last bastion of my obnoxiosity. I was really full on. I’d just had a year and half of enthwartenment of my outward-going-ness, and in 1984 I was Frank Zappa’s bass player again. I was twenty-four, at the height of my powers, emotionally and musically and humorously, and Frank let me do anything that I wanted.
