[edit]Hinde (1904) records nsia of “Ulu dialect” (spoken then from Machakos to coastal area) and ndthia of “Nganyawa dialect” (spoken then in Kitui District) as equivalents of English road, listing also “Jogowini dialect” of Kikuyu njira and Swahili njia together with ndia as their equivalents.[1]
