- 2007 May 3, Bob Driehaus, “Court Rejects Limit on Bids by Convicts for DNA Tests”, in New York Times[1]:
- The origins of the case lay in an effort to seek DNA testing by Cameron Sterling, who was convicted in 1991 of nonforcible rape of a child younger than 13 and sentenced to 6 to 25 years in prison. Mr. Sterling entered a so-called Alford plea, in which he continued to assert his innocence but acknowledged that the prosecutors had evidence that might persuade a jury.
