[edit]From Proto-Albanian *nemska, from Proto-Indo-European *nem (“to divide, to take, to arrange, to count”). Cognate to Greek νέμω (némo, “to divide”), Gothic niman (“to take”), Latin numerus (“member, element, number”), nummus (“coin, money”).[1] More and more replaced by the loanword numëroj.
