niddah (plural niddahs)

  1. (Judaism) Someone whom Halacha considers menstruant.
    • 2009 April 27, Micha Berger, “Avigdor Lieberman, our realistic new Foreign Minister (Naomi Ragen)”, in soc.culture.jewish.moderated[1] (Usenet):
I assume you, Josh, are perfect. My description of our ideals on that point match; I publically[sic] admitted a personal flaw in my not actually being emotionally in tune with my ideal. I assume you do not worry about the current economy, having perfect bitachon, are never beset with hunger on Yom Kippur, or sexual desire when your wife is a niddah, or otherwise ever have your emotions at odds with your ideals.
  2. (Judaism) The menstrual period.
